Apothecary Donation FAQs

What can be donated?

Dried herbs, tinctures, glycerites, powders, capsules, shelf-stable syrups. We can accept body care products but they MUST be unopened. Cannabis products, mild-altering substances and substances without federal legality will not be accepted. Please also read our Statement on Safety and Sustainability if you plan on donating homemade and/or wildcrafted items.

Where can I drop off donations?

At Bitternut or at a Syracuse Herbal Study Group class/event. To coordinate drop-off, please email us at syracusehsg@gmail.com

Can I donate annonym0usly?

We require identifying information on the donation form, however none of this will be available to the public or placed on medicines, and is for product tracking & safety only. 

Can I donate expired medicines?

For the most part, we can accept expired herbs as long as they are not body care products, but will evaluate case-by-case.
