SHSG is hiring a marketing intern

Please read on to learn about this unique opportunity to use your marketing & PR skills to benefit our small community-minded organization in exchange for apprentice-based learning.

If you have been wanting to seek more herbal education with the goal of becoming a community or clinical herbalist but have found the options for training limited or inaccessible, this might be for you! Apprentice-based learning is the oldest form of sharing herbal knowledge from teacher to student and has become extremely hard to find. We at Syracuse Herbal Study Group have an apprenticeship available to formally train a hopeful herbalist in exchange for a marketing position within the group. Here's some of what you would have access to from us:

-Regular training in the garden

-Shadowing experiences with clients

-Medicine making 

-Knowledge sharing

-Student teaching

-Plant ID & harvest

We are looking for someone with experience in the following areas:

​

-Social media brand-building, Instagram in particular

-Event PR both online and locally

-Networking and inter-organization collaboration 

-Community outreach & PR

​

This opportunity will start Summer 2025. We are looking for someone who can give about four hours weekly towards marketing responsibilities and we will match that in terms of herbal training time per week. Apprenticeship is hosted in Homer, NY as well as at various locations in CNY including the Onondaga Nation.
